Leaving Iowa city at 8 am after a lovely night with Brett/tim/jack/
dan/Kate. Off in search of coffee and the open road.

We stopped for lunch at a steak n shake (a former high school haunt of
mine) in Peru, IL which is just past Ottawa and Marseilles.

Also of note, we just narrowly avoided running over a turtle and the jim gaffigan cd mark downloaded has Dane cook tracks interspersed throughout. Very disappointing.

state #6 Indiana

South Bend, IN
We spent the night in lovely South Bend which received 11 inches of rain yesterday. In addition to the Gipper's lounge, the quality inn is home to the hey sushi ultra lounge ("we specialize in sake bombs"). We ordered a pizza.

state #5 Ohio

we've arrived in the buckeye state. The wind is defintely picking up. Were going to try to get as far as possible tonight to get away from Ike. Also, the cleveland sports radio station is pretty awesome.

State #4 Pennsylvania

Now on the 80. We don't have to turn again until sacramento!
Purchased our first tank of gas. $99!
