Cate Gets an Early Birthday!

While we will not be together on Cate's birthday, we were able to celebrate with the traditional giving of gifts and eating of baked goods. We had a mini apple cake something or other from Emily's Bakery, which was incredible, as well as a chocolate cupcake, also delicious.



For her birthday, Cate got a bike!!! woo-hoo! Those hills won't know what hit them.

I love our little cottage which is good since I rarely leave it these
days. I insisted on heading downtown to a coffee shop for a few hours
this afternoon only to be reminded that I never get any work done in
coffee shops because I am so easily distracted by other people.

santa cruz loves its drum circles! several drum circles formed last night, including this guy who jumped on the back of a truck. other people were banging pots with spoons. i could do without the drum circle at the farmers market, but it was pretty awesome last night.
